Donald Trump has once again raised health concerns after appearing to “struggle to keep his eyes open” while his wife, Melania, delivered an important speech. The 79-year-old president seemed to battle drowsiness as he stood by her side while she discussed a new executive order.

Footage from the event showed Trump repeatedly opening and closing his eyes, with some viewers noting that he was blinking slowly. His tired appearance sparked speculation on social media, with one user commenting: “Despite standing, Trump seems to be having trouble keeping his eyes open while Melania speaks.” Another user quipped: “After ‘sleepy Joe,’ it looks like we have a new version in ‘sleepy Donald.’”

The incident followed a rare joint executive order signing ceremony on Thursday, where First Lady Melania Trump joined her husband to sign a directive aimed at expanding resources for teenagers in the foster care system.

The executive order, signed by both Trumps, seeks to strengthen the First Lady’s Fostering the Future program, which provides scholarships and educational opportunities to help young people transition out of foster care.

Fostering the Future is part of Melania Trump’s Be Best initiative, launched during her husband’s first term to promote children’s well-being, with a focus on combating bullying and addressing issues like drug addiction.

Following her speech, Mrs. Trump received a standing ovation. The president then took the microphone, after giving his wife a kiss, and expressed his admiration.

“Thank you, Melania. Our country is truly blessed to have this magnificent and very caring First Lady,” he said. “They love her. Every time I get up and make a speech, they say ‘we want our First Lady.’ I say, ‘What the hell, am I not good enough?’”

The ceremony comes after the BBC issued an apology to Donald Trump following accusations of misleading video editing. However, the network maintained that there was no merit to his defamation claims.
